The National Labor Relations Board suspended a union election in which Airgas USA drivers at a Texas facility had been slated to vote by mail due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Sept. 24 decision marks at least the fourth time since Aug. 25 that the Republican-controlled NLRB granted an employer’s request to halt a mail-ballot election.
That recent spate of NLRB orders pausing union votes by mail signals that the board will reconsider mail-ballot elections if an employer objects.
