A manufacturer of disposable food containers violated federal labor law when it disciplined a worker for his union activity in 2018, the National Labor Relations Board ruled.
The case stems from charges filed against Genpak LLC by the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union in 2019, alleging that company supervisors had illegally disciplined Horace Brown, a union organizer at Genpak’s factory in Hope Hull, Ala.
The company argued that it disciplined the organizer for wasting time on the clock and for failing to stop his coworkers from violating company procedures.
