NLRB Delays Contested Election Procedure Changes by 45 Days

The National Labor Relations Board pushed back to June 1 the effective date for its rule changing union election procedures that the AFL-CIO has challenged in court.

The NLRB announced the 45-day delay in a court filing Friday. The judge hearing the AFL-CIO’s lawsuit also put the case on an expedited schedule that could see a decision arrive before the rule goes into effect.

All union elections supervised by the NLRB are on hold until at least April 3 in response to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
