NLRB Cracks Down on Immigrant Worker Intimidation, Abruzzo Says

The National Labor Relations Board is rolling out new investigative policies aimed to protect workers from immigration-related intimidation when they seek to organize in their workplaces.

The agency will seek immigration relief such as deferred action, parole, or stay of removal when requested by workers who seek to protect their rights under the National Labor Relations Act. It will also advise witnesses giving testimony that their immigration status is not relevant to investigations of unlawful conduct by employers, General Counsel Jennifer Abruzzo told regional field offices in a memo Monday.
