Nike Is Cutting 1,400 Corporate Jobs, Mostly in Technology

Nike Inc. is cutting 1,400 roles, less than 2% of its total workforce, as the sporting-goods company tries to get its turnaround plan back on track.

The cuts will mostly affect technology roles in Nike’s global operations team, the company said Thursday. Nike is streamlining its structure and using more advanced automation, Chief Operating Officer Venkatesh Alagirisamy said in a note to employees.
