NH Paid Leave Bill Heading to Likely Veto (1)

Democrats in New Hampshire have pushed a state paid family and medical leave bill through the state legislature, but the measure faces a likely veto by Republican Gov. Chris Sununu.

The House passed the bill (S.B. 1-FN) by a vote of 219-142 on March 20. In February, the Senate passed the bill 13-10. Neither had a large enough margin to override a potential veto by Gov. Sununu, who opposes the program’s funding mechanism.
