A black officer who agreed to settle his discrimination claims against the New York City Department of Corrections should be forced to abide by the settlement’s terms, the city and two other officers who settled told a federal judge.
The city agreed to pay $275,000 to settle the discrimination lawsuit brought by Charles Daniels, Keith Taylor, and Errol Toulon Jr., according to documents filed with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
The settlement agreement is admittedly preliminary, but is a binding contract, the city said April 2 in its letter motion to Judge Lorna Schofield. ...
