New York-based trucking company, Gypsum Express, Ltd., has been sued by the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for allegations of sex discrimination in hiring as well as retaliation against two former recruiters, according to a news release Friday.
The EEOC alleged the company engaged in a nationwide pattern or practice of hiring discrimination against female applicants for flatbed driver positions because of sex, including having a formal same-sex trainer/trainee policy for a period of time. The alleged practices violate Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
