New York Roofing Company Founder Pleads Guilty to OSHA Violation

The founder of ALJ Home Improvement Inc., has pleaded guilty to one count of willful violation of the Occupational Safety and Health Act resulting in the death of an employee, the Department of Justice announced Monday.

Jose Lema, principal of the New York roofing company, failed to provide employees installing a roof on a three-story building with fall protection, the DOJ said. One worker suffered a fatal fall after climbing a ladder to the roof.
