T.C. Wheelers Inc. is facing a lawsuit from the EEOC because management and employees allegedly harassed a cook, who is a transgender man, because of his gender identity at the company’s restaurant in Tonawanda, N.Y., the agency said Thursday.
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said the company violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by forcing the employee to quit to escape the repeated harassment at T.C. Wheelers Bar & Pizzeria, which included intentional misgendering, invasive questions, and anti-trans comments, according to the complaint.
