An investment firm recruiter lost its bid to get a federal court in California to block a rival recruiting company based in New York from threatening further legal action for alleged violations of non-compete and non-solicitation agreements.
Career Partners Inc. is the New York-based company that pairs MBA grads with investment fund clients. Two of CPI’s employees left the company to found Gold Coast Search Partners LLC in California. These two employees had non-compete and non-solicitation agreements with CPI, and CPI has filed a New York state court action to enforce those provisions.
