An employee at a Starbucks roastery in Manhattan has petitioned to remove Workers United as the store’s union representative, according to the legal group representing the worker.
The decertification petition, filed Wednesday with the National Labor Relations Board, is for a Starbucks Roastery location on Ninth Avenue in New York City, according to a press release from National Right to Work, a conservative foundation that opposes “compulsory unionism abuses.” NRTW’s lawyers will be representing the worker who filed the petition pro bono, the organization said in its statement.
