New York City Enacts Parental Covid-19 Vaccination Leave Law

New York City employees are entitled to paid leave to vaccinate their children against Covid-19 and to care for them if they experience vaccine side effects, under a new law enacted on Dec. 24.

The law is retroactively effective Nov. 2 and will remain in effect until Dec. 31, 2022.

Employers must provide four hours of paid leave per vaccine injection to employees to vaccinate their underage or disabled children against Covid-19 and to care for them if they are unable to attend school or childcare because of temporary vaccine side effects, the law states.
