New York City Accused of Sex Bias Against Nursing FDNY Workers

New York City is accused in a new lawsuit of failing to accommodate and otherwise discriminating against employees assigned to the New York Fire Department who need or want to express breast milk during work hours.

Vanessa Feeley filed the proposed class action April 10 in federal court in Brooklyn. She seeks to represent 100 or more lactating employees who have or will work for the FDNY at any time between Aug. 15, 2007, and the date of judgment in the case.
