New York employers statewide would have to provide a pay range in job ads under legislation headed to Gov. Kathy Hochul’s desk.
The bill, S9427, would impose salary disclosure requirements similar to recently enacted laws in New York City and Washington state—part of a movement toward broader wage transparency measures aimed at promoting pay equity.
- If the Democratic governor signs the bill, it would take effect 270 days later and apply to employers with four or more employees. Hochul is reviewing the legislation, spokesman Justin Henry said in an email.
