New York would ban mandatory anti-union meetings in the workplace under legislation heading to Gov. Kathy Hochul for her signature.
The legislation (A6604/S4982) would prevent employers from requiring workers to attend meetings in which the company expresses its views on religious or political matters. The bill defines those matters to include the choice of whether to join a labor organization. It will move next to Hochul’s (D) desk after passing the state legislature on Saturday.
