New Work Suits: AmEx, Expedia Face Overtime Collective Actions

American Express Co. and Expedia Group Inc. denied overtime pay to employees they intentionally misclassified, according to two complaints filed in federal courts.

The lawsuits are among about 489 new labor and employment cases filed Jan. 27 to Feb. 2, an uptick of 127 from the previous week.

  • In the AmEx collective action, Merchant Services employees allege the company willfully misclassified them as exempt from overtime pay.
