Safety in laboratories, including tips running the gamut from working with small animals to latex glove allergies, is the focus of new guidance and educational materials made available Oct. 13 by the Labor Department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
The guidebook, fact sheets, and reference cards do not create new standards; instead they explain existing standards in plain language and illustrations.
“These educational materials will help employers identify hazards and measures to ensure safe and healthful conditions for their workers and promote a robust safety culture in the workplace,” OSHA Administrator David Michaels said.
