New Mine Safety Grant Funding Announced for Training, Education

The US Labor Department is making up to $250,000 in grant funding available to promote mine safety and health education and training, the agency said Thursday.

The Brookwood-Sago grant program, established by the Mine Improvement and New Emergency Response Act of 2006, honors the 25 miners who lost their lives in mining disasters in Alabama in 2001 and West Virginia in 2006.
