New Jersey Minimum Wage to Jump More Than $1 Due to Inflation

New Jersey will raise its minimum wage in January by more than $1 per hour based on unusually high inflation, the state’s labor department said.

The statewide minimum wage will rise to $14.13 per hour, up from $13 now—an increase of 8.7%. State law calls for annual increases of at least $1 per hour until the rate reaches $15, unless growth in the Consumer Price Index demands a larger increase.
