New Jersey Laundry Cited for Workplace Hazards

The Labor Department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration proposed $305,300 in penalties Sept. 23 against the commercial laundry company Prestige Industries LLC for safety hazards and cited the company for one willful, three repeat and five serious safety and health violations.

In a Sept. 30 statement, OSHA said the alleged safety violations it found at the company’s Paterson, N.J., facility were similar to those that contributed to the death of a 24-year-old worker at another company facility in Bay Shore, N.Y., in 2011 27 LRW 838, 5/1/13, 75 DLR A-4, 4/18/13.

Prestige Industries is based in Lyndhurst, N.J.
