New Jersey Hospital System Gets Greenlight for Antitrust Suit

New Jersey’s CarePoint Health Systems Inc. got the go-ahead to continue its suit against a competing health system that allegedly engaged in a yearslong conspiracy to monopolize the general acute care hospital services market in Hudson County, N.J.

CarePoint’s complaint adequately said that it suffered an antitrust injury as a result of RWJ Barnabas Health Inc.'s alleged bad-faith acquisition of CarePoint’s confidential information, poaching of leading practitioners, and spreading false information about CarePoint, the US District Court for the District of New Jersey said Nov. 17.
