The U.S. Labor Department has chosen New Jersey and Arkansas as test-drivers of its latest effort to modernize the unemployment system that was plagued with chronic technology and processing issues early in the Covid-19 pandemic.
The states were picked to participate in DOL’s “Claimant Experience Pilot,” a new project from its Office of Unemployment Insurance Modernization aimed at designing an application system that is easier for unemployed workers to use and access, and help prevent fraud.
