New Contractor Watchdog Head Wants to ‘Autopsy’ Agency’s Actions

The newly appointed leader of the Labor Department’s federal contractor watchdog plans to “conduct an autopsy” of the agency’s activities as part of an extensive review of the office and the businesses it regulates, according to an email obtained by Bloomberg Law.

“All reform options are on the table” for the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, Director Catherine Eschbach wrote in a Monday email to the agency’s staff.

“The reality is, most of what OFCCP had been doing was out of step, if not flat out contradictory, to our country’s laws,” Eschbach said.
