NCAA Seeks Quick Appeal of Ruling in College Athlete Pay Case

The NCAA has asked the Eastern District of Pennsylvania to allow an immediate appeal of its ruling greenlighting claims by college student athletes that they should be paid for their participation in Division I interscholastic athletic activity.

The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania ruled in September that the students may pursue their Fair Labor Standards Act claims against the NCAA because they plausibly allege it is a joint employer along with their schools.
