NCAA Football Players’ Eligibility Appeal Raises Market Question

A panel of Fourth Circuit judges grappled with the argument that extensive economic analysis is needed to support lawsuits against the NCAA’s player eligibility rules, expressing concern that a broad ruling in favor of the organization could unfairly limit future challenges.

During remote oral arguments Tuesday, Judge Pamela A. Harris picked at the NCAA’s notion that plaintiffs must bring a full and complete market analysis to prevail in similar eligibility rule cases.
