Nabisco Workers Reach New Labor Agreement, Ending Factory Strike

Nabisco workers in five states have ratified new labor contracts, ending a strike that had slowed production for the maker of Oreo cookies and Triscuit crackers.

Employees at plants in Illinois, Oregon and Virginia, as well as distribution centers in Colorado, Illinois and Georgia, secured deals that increase wages and retirement benefits and include flexible work schedules, Nabisco parent Mondelez International Inc.said Monday in a statement. The contracts also include a ratification bonus and are retroactive to March 1. Mondelez had called the agreement tentative in a blog post on Saturday.
