ExpressJet Airlines Inc. doesn’t have to face claims in court by a Muslim flight attendant who says she was denied accommodation for, and fired because of, her religious need to not serve alcohol to passengers.
Charee Stanley alleges ExpressJet told her she could have the other flight attendant on all her flights fill any passenger alcohol orders for her. Those allegations, however, implicate her fellow flight attendants’ seniority and other rights under the airline’s collective bargaining agreement with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan said Dec. 7.
