More Dollar General Stores Hit With Worker Safety Citations

Dollar General Corp. and Dolgencorp LLC face an additional $2.8 million in proposed penalties on top of other recently issued fines after inspections at stores in Alabama, Florida, and Georgia found more workplace safety violations, the Labor Department said Tuesday.

Seven Occupational Safety and Health Administration inspections conducted from April 28 to June 3 identified 11 willful, 16 repeat, and four serious violations, according to DOL.

The violations, which include blocked exits and fire and electrical hazards, were similar to those found at other Dollar General stores with pending litigation, the department said.
