Women—particularly mothers—continue to lag behind men in returning to the workforce, despite overall signs of recovery two years after the Covid-19 pandemic took hold, a national survey released Thursday said.
The National Women’s Law Center report states that 1.1 million fewer women are in the labor force than in February 2020, and nearly 40% of women, including 66% of women who lost or quit a job, say that their family’s financial situation is worse than before the pandemic as compared to 26% of men.
