Modis Dodges Philadelphia IT Contractor’s Disability Bias Suit

Modis, Inc., a subsidiary of The Adecco Group, was dismissed from a disability discrimination and retaliation suit brought by a former computer support employee, but may face the claims again in an amended complaint.

Robert Pickney failed to clearly identify Modis as responsible for reducing his hours after his accommodation request, the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania ruled Tuesday. His claims against Philadelphia can proceed, though, because he sufficiently alleged the city was his joint employer, the court said.
