MIT Partly Defeats Black Nurse’s Race, Leave Discrimination Case

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology trimmed some allegations from a lawsuit claiming it discriminated against a Black nurse because of her race and ran afoul of family and medical leave protections.

Only the hostile work environment portion of the nurse’s race bias claim can move forward, the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts said. She also failed to allege interference with her Family and Medical Leave Act rights, but can pursue an FMLA retaliation claim, the opinion said.
