Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe on Friday called on lawmakers to redraw the state’s congressional districts, proposing a map that would likely give Republicans an additional seat in the US House.
Kehoe’s (R) proposal would aid the GOP by splitting the Kansas City area district represented by Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D). Under the plan, Rep. Wesley Bell of the St. Louis area would likely be the only Democrat among the state’s eight US House members.
