Missouri Court Upholds Sick Time, Minimum Wage Law Voters Passed

A voter-approved minimum wage increase and paid sick leave requirement for Missouri workplaces remains on track to take effect after the state’s top court denied challengers’ request to block it.

The Missouri Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld the validity of ballot measure Proposition A, ruling against individual voters and business groups who claimed it violated the state’s requirements for ballot initiatives. Among those rules, initiatives must cover only a single subject and present voters with clear, accurate ballot language.
