A Bowie Baysox pitcher faced a skeptical federal judge in California over whether he can lead a class action against Major League Baseball alleging that 22 individual franchises pay minor leaguers so little that they live in poverty during spring training.

Cody Sedlock, who pitches for a minor league team affiliated with the Baltimore Orioles, hopes to lead a class of players accusing MLB and the teams of not paying minor leaguers their salaries during spring training and paying no wages for other significant periods of work.
