Minimum Wage Compromise Clears Pennsylvania Senate

A plan to raise Pennsylvania’s minimum wage to $9.50 over two years won passage in the state Senate Nov. 20. The measure is part of a bargain that also aims to halt the governor’s plan to expand overtime pay.

S.B. 79 still needs approval from the state House, which isn’t likely to vote on it until December. At the time of the Senate vote, it wasn’t immediately clear whether or when Gov.
