Military Chaplains’ Covid Vax Case Evades Supreme Court Review

The US Supreme Court declined to determine whether the Defense Department’s now-revoked Covid-19 vaccine mandate violated the religious rights of military chaplains.

The high court on Monday rejected a petition by 39 military chaplains to review a 2023 US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit dismissal of their lawsuit accusing the government of breaching their First Amendment rights.

The Fourth Circuit ruled that the government’s decision to revoke the vaccination requirement early last year rendered the case moot.
