Michigan employers will have to justify anytime they allow an office worker to come onto a job site instead of staying home, according to a new Covid-19 emphasis program announced Monday by state officials.
The emphasis program is slated to last at least three months as Michigan tries to turn around the growth of new virus cases. The state added 9,179 new cases on Nov. 13 and overall has recorded 275,792, according to data collected by Bloomberg.
Employers who can’t meet state requirements face potential fines from the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
