Michigan public employers and universities can continue requiring that workers and students receive Covid-19 vaccines after Gov.
Whitmer signed a roughly $70 billion bipartisan state budget bill (S.B. 82) that her administration developed with Republican leaders in the state House and Senate. But she tossed language that would have blocked the governor or local government officials from requiring public employees to get vaccinated, and would have given students in public schools broad exemptions to the shots.
