Michaels Beats Most Wage Claims in Ex-Warehouse Staffer’s Suit

A distribution unit of craft-store chain Michaels defeated most claims in a lawsuit alleging it failed to provide proper pay and breaks to a temporary worker assigned to a California warehouse.

The worker abandoned some of his wage claims when he didn’t oppose the chain’s move for an early win on those allegations, the US District Court for the Eastern District of California said. He also admitted to receiving some of the breaks he said the company prevented him from taking, according to the order filed Tuesday.
