MGM National Harbor Server to Get Footwear Accommodation Trial

A trial is needed on whether MGM National Harbor LLC failed to accommodate a cocktail server whose foot issues prevented her from wearing her uniform’s black high heels, a federal judge ruled.

The factual disputes that need to be resolved include whether the “Skechers-style black shoes” the former employee wore after being granted permission to “wear flats/good support shoes” instead of heels at the recommendation of her doctor complied with the accommodation she was granted and whether that accommodation was altered to allow her to wear the sneaker-like Skechers, the US District Court for the District of Maryland said.
