Meyer Burger Shuts Down US Solar Module Output, Cuts 282 Jobs

Meyer Burger Technology said it’s forced to stop its US solar module production, which is still ramping up, due to a lack of funds.

• All 282 remaining employees at the Goodyear, AZ, site received their notices of termination
• Future of the site is uncertain
• Still in talks with bondholders on restructuring; this affects two convertible bonds issued by MBT Systems, guaranteed by Meyer Burger, and due in 2027 and 2029
