#MeToo Bill Adds Transparency to Workplace Harassment Cases (1)

A bipartisan group of House lawmakers July 18 introduced legislation intended to combat workplace harassment, the latest congressional action in response to the #MeToo movement.

“Sexual harassment in the workplace is an abuse of power and robbing its victims, mostly women, of a safe and dignified workplace and often causing emotional and physical distress and harming their financial ability to take care of their family,” Rep. Lois Frankel (D-Fla.) said during a news conference. "#MeToo is not just about Hollywood producers and TV stars.”
