MetLife Subpoena Case Delay Prompts Bid for Appeals Court Action

The US Labor Department is seeking a federal appeals court’s intervention in a case it filed more than two years ago to force MetLife Inc. to comply with a subpoena over its pension “de-risking” business.

The agency said the US District Court for the Southern District of New York hasn’t acted on a petition to enforce the subpoena “despite repeated requests by the agency,” the DOL’s Employee Benefits Security Administration said in a petition filed with the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
