Meta Beats Facebook Users’ Bid to Enjoin Medical Data Collection

Facebook users who allege Meta Platforms Inc.‘s tracking tool Pixel illegally intercepts their medical information were denied a preliminary injunction prohibiting Meta from collecting and disseminating that data.

While the allegations are “troubling,” the US District Court for the Northern District of California said, the plaintiffs failed to meet the high standard required for an injunction because so much is unknown about the efficacy of Meta’s filtration system and the feasibility of technological solutions.
