Mendes & Mount Paralegal Timely With Suit Over Harassing Client

Mendes & Mount LLP must face a former paralegal’s allegations that it let the same client who sexually harassed her in 1989 in London renew his abuse after she was rehired by the insurance law firm’s New York office in 2013, a federal court ruled Monday.

Judge J. Paul Oetken rejected the firm’s argument that Therese Pesce was too late to claim harassment under Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act because the only alleged misconduct by client Mark Hicks within the 300-day window to sue was his unsuccessful attempt to visit her in her office in March 2017....
