Medtronic Former Executive Advances Age, Disability Bias Lawsuit

Medtronic USA Inc. must face a former senior director’s job bias claims because whether she can sue under Minnesota law despite mostly working from Michigan raises an open legal question, a federal judge ruled.

The company’s motion to dismiss Jan Kuklenski’s age and disability discrimination claims under the Minnesota Human Rights Act implicated whether the court had statutory standing, the US District Court for the District of Minnesota said. But the MHRA’s text isn’t clear on what it means to work in Minnesota, the court said.
