Medical Center Faces Race Discrimination, Retaliation Lawsuit

A Shreveport, La., health-care clinic has been sued for racial harassment and retaliation after allegedly subjecting a Black employee to a hostile work environment and then firing her for speaking out, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said Friday.

According to the agency’s complaint, a dental director at the Council for the Advancement of Social Services and Education, doing business as CASSE Community Health Institute, allegedly suggested putting on blackface and going looting in response to the racial justice protests associated with the Black Lives Matter movement.
