McKesson Medical-Surgical will pay $448,000 in back wages and interest to resolve alleged systemic hiring discrimination against nearly 900 Black, Hispanic, and White applicants at its Grapevine, Texas, distribution facility, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs announced Monday.
According to the OFCCP, McKesson Medical-Surgical engaged in hiring practices that discriminated against applicants for associate material handler positions from 2019 to 2021. The office said that the alleged discrimination affected 472 Black, 226 Hispanic, and 186 White applicants.
In addition to paying back wages and interest, the company will make job offers to 32 eligible applicants.
