McDonald’s NLRB Case Stays Closed Despite Ethics Objections (1)

The National Labor Relations Board rejected a union-backed bid to reopen the massive unfair labor practice case against McDonald’s Corp. that settled late last year in the fast-food giant’s favor.

The Service Employees International Union and groups associated with the Fight for $15 organization didn’t identify any error or show the extraordinary circumstances that would warrant reconsideration, the NLRB said in its two-page order Wednesday.

The board in December directed an NLRB judge to approve a roughly $170,000 settlement between McDonald’s franchisees and their workers that also cleared McDonald’s from any direct responsibility as a joint employer for the ...
